Repair/image restoration also provided at no charge for those units with failed/failing drive, software corruption, or upgrade problems. You may also just ship your drive(s) (+$8 return shipping) for restore and/or upgrade if you prefer. Custom dual IDE cable, Y power adapter, and custom B Drive bracket can be provided (add $20) for those adding B drives to Series 2 TiVo® DVR units. Simply include check or money order with your shipped TiVo® DVR unit or drives for Next Day turnaround. Email notification of shipment is provided including tracking number.

Repair/Restore Service: (no charge in conjunction with any Full Upgrade option):
Those with failed/failing drives or TiVo software corruption can also select any Full Upgrade option above and your unit will be upgraded, and additionally, recovery/image restoration will be provided at no additional charge. After drive diagnostics (if necessary), we will attempt to re-use the original drive(s) with the provided or purchased upgrade drive in your new upgrade configuration. If the original drive(s) are not usable, then a new image will be restored to the purchased/provided upgrade drive, which will then become your new A drive - providing you with a functioning upgraded unit. Any non-functioning drives are returned to you. Simply include check or money order (and upgrade drive if applicable) with your shipped TiVo® DVR. Or for fastest/easiest recovery - any of the Upgrade Kits above can be ordered as an "A Drive Replacement" (same cost) instead of the standard B drive addition. A new Upgrade drive will then be configured as a new A Drive for your model TiVo® DVR and can simply be swapped out for your failing drive(s) (simple photo instructions included). You will be prompted to run Guided Setup upon initial bootup and will need to re-enter your season passes, etc. using this option.

TiVo Subscriptions are stored on the motherboard – not the hard drives – and are not affected by any TiVo Upgrade Kit or Full Upgrade. All upgrades and Upgrade Kits use new Maxtor, WD, or Seagate 7200RPM fully warranted drives (1 year manufacturer warranty), with acoustic management enabled quiet (these drives run cool and quiet and offer performance benefits due to higher spindle speed), and will be re-upgraded at no cost (you cover shipping) during the 1 year warranty period if you ever develop a problem with the new drive(s) - you will need to run diagnostics and get the free replacement drive from Maxtor, Western Digital, or Seagate before sending for re-upgrade.

 

Those sending their units or drives for Full Upgrade service can simply include payment check along with their shipped unit (checks are not held for clearance - completed units ship out immediately) or credit card payment can be submitted using above links. Any original drives not being used in new configuration are returned to customer with completed unit only upon request. Those wishing Full Upgrade service should ship their TiVo® DVR (with payment and upgrade drive(s)-if applicable) to:
