B Drive Upgrade
Kits and TiVoฎ DVR Series 2 Standalones: Due to a recent TiVo
software upgrade (TiVo v7.2x software* or above), the Series 2 Standalone
models listed below can no longer be upgraded using pre-configured B Drive
Upgrade Kits (added alongside existing drive). These models can still
be easily upgraded by ordering any size (80GB, 120GB, 160GB) A Drive
Replacement Upgrade Kit (replaces the original drive), or by ordering the
dual-drive self-install 240GB or 320GB A+B Upgrade Kits (includes A+B drive-set
replaces the original drive). Upgrade
Kits, to add hours to your TiVoฎ DVR in just minutes, are
available for same day shipment (for orders placed weekdays before 3:30PM CST).

Note: The above listed standalone TiVo models can still
be upgraded using simple pre-configured self-install Upgrade Kits by ordering
any size (80GB, 120GB, 160GB) A Drive Replacement Upgrade Kit (replaces the
original drive), or by ordering an the 240GB or 320GB Upgrade Kits (includes
A+B upgrade drive-set replaces the original drive).
Note: Although pre-configured self-install B Drive
Upgrade Kits are not available - 80GB, 120GB, 160GB, or 300GB B Drives can be
added to the above listed TiVo Series 2 standalone models (added alongside your
existing A drive) by shipping your TiVo unit for Full Upgrade service (costs
$35 more than Upgrade Kits + $15 return shipping complete
installation/configuration/testing is provided turnaround is second business
day from receipt of unit). For Full Upgrade service see Full Upgrade notes at
end of each drive size (120GB, 160GB, etc.) section on the Upgrade
Kits online order page.
*Those with TiVo Series 2 standalone models that still
have TiVo software version v7.1x or below (for example newly purchased units or
those that have not yet received the most recent software upgrades) can still
upgrade by ordering self-install B Drive Upgrade Kits for your model. However,
you will want to unplug your phone line to prevent the v7.2 upgrade from
occurring until after your B Drive Upgrade Kit has been installed. To see what software version your TiVo is
currently running, you can go to TiVo
Central -> Messages and Setup -> Account & System Information ->
System Information and see Software Version.
B Drive Upgrade Kits are available for all other TiVo
and DirecTiVo models: Only the TiVo Series 2 Standalone models (listed
above) are restricted from utilizing self-install B Drive Upgrade Kits. All
Series 2 DirecTV/TiVo (DirecTiVo) models (see list below) can order
pre-configured self-install B Drive Upgrade Kits (added alongside existing
drive) or A Drive Replacement Upgrade Kits (replace existing drive) or A+B
Replacement Upgrade Kit (replace existing drive with dual-drive A+B drive-set).
